Question 131021: How do I set this up to work it?

Answer by ptaylor(2198) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=Ben's age; x+23=Ben's age in 23 years
Then 2x+7=John's age; (2x+7)+23=2x+30=John's age in 23 years
Now we are told that the sum of their ages in 23 years is 83, so:
x+23+2x+30=83 It's set up now, can you handle it from here???
Hope this helps---ptaylor
