Cora = x     years old

Joey = x-5   years old



The sum:  write inequality as you read the problem


    2(x-5) + 3x <= 25


Solve it


    2x - 10 + 3x <= 25

    2x      + 3x <= 25 + 10

         5x      <= 35

          x      <= 35/5 = 7.


ANSWER.  Cora is at most 7 years old.
