.their combined age is the same as their father's age .if their father is 50yrs old
j + s = 50

how old is joseph and her sister
rearrange the 1st equation and use elimination with 2nd equation
j - s = 6
j + s = 50
-------------- addition eliminates s, find j
2j + 0 = 56
j = 56/2
j = 28 yrs is Joseph's age
then
28 + s = 50
s = 50 - 28
s = 22 yrs is sister's age

confirm in the 1st equation
28 = 22 + 6
