.

His (or her) second step is next after the first one.

Does my response seem to be idiotic to you ?

It is because YOUR post does not specify which was the first step.

Therefore, I can only guess what is his (or her) second step - but guessing is not a Math.

At this point, try to extract all possible correct logical consequences related to your post - - - otherwise,
this exercise will be useless to you.

the inequality is:
-4x + 6 < 10
the next thing she should probably do is subtract 6 from both sides of the inequality.
she would then get:
-4x < 10 - 6 which would result in:
-4x < 4
your solution is selection C.

A. Add 6 from both sides
B. Divide by -4 on both sides
C. Subtract 6 from both sides
D. Multiply by -4 on both sides
The 2nd step depends on the 1st!
