Mark is two years older than Juan. Jerman is twice as old as Mark. Coral is twice as old as Jerman. The sum of their ages is 38. How old is Mark?
Let Mark's age be M
Then Juan's is: M - 2, Jerman's is: 2M, and Carol's is: 2(2M) = 4M
As their ages sum to 38, we get: M + M - 2 + 2M + 4M = 38
8M = 40
