Sally is four times Linda’s age. In 10 years’ time the sum of their ages will be 75.
Determine how old is Sally now.
As their ages sum to 75 in 10 years' time, their ages now sum to 75 - 2(10) = 75 - 20 = 55 

Let Sally's age be S

Then Linda's is:

4S + S = 220 ------ Multiplying by LCD, 4

5S = 220
