(a)  Lilly is 8 years now and she is 5 years older than her brother.
     How old is Lilly brother ?


     In this form, even a kindergarten alumni can answer the question.



(b)  Lilly is 8 years now and she is half as old as her sister.
     How old is Lilly sister ?


     This time I am not sure about a kindergarten alumni.

     But a 2-nd grade student definitely can solve it on his (or her) own, without any help from outside.
