You need to IGNORE everything, and I mean, EVERYTHING the other person wrote. 90% of it MAKES absolutely no sense.
Younger is most definitely not 21, and the age difference makes no sense at 21 either. By the way, doesn't that make the sum of the ages 42? Is that hard for the dude to see? I guess so!!!

Then the younger's is: 35 - E
We then get: E - 7 = 2(35 - E - 7)
Solve this for E, the elder brother's age, and then find 35 - E, the younger brother's age.
Then just SUBTRACT the younger's from the elder's!
