Then the grandfather age is 4x years.


Two years ago . . . 


    (x-2) + (4x-2) = 76.


Simplify and solve for x.


    x - 2 + 4x - 2 = 76

    5x = 76 + 2 + 2 = 80


    x =  = 16  is the grandson age.      ANSWER
