In 12 years time, the sum of their ages will be equal to 10 times farhan's present age. Find their present ages

Let F be the Farhan's age.


Then the father's age is 3F, and the equation is


(F+12) + (3F+12) = 10F    (  <<<---===  saying "In 12 years time, the sum of their ages will be equal to 10 times farhan's present age.")


4F + 24 = 10F


24 = 6F  ====>  F = 24/6 = 4    Farhan is 4 years old.


Then the Father is  3*4 = 12 years old.


It does not seem to be realistic . . .

It looks like that the condition is DEFECTIVE.
