Since the diameter of the flower garden is 34 yards, the radius is 17 yards. The outside edge of the path makes a circle with radius 17 + 5 = 22 yards.
The area of the big circle is then: ^2)
The area of the flower garden circle is: ^2)
The area of the pathway is then: ^2\ -\ \pi(17)^2)
And the number of bags of sand is the area of the pathway divided by 8 and the result rounded UP.
