Their present ages may be x and 2x.

3x - 15 = 2x - 5


x = 10.


Answer.  Their present ages are  10 years and 20 years.

(x-5)=3(y-5)

x-5=3y-15

2y-5=3y-15

y=10, x=20 (Present ages)

After 5 years: 15/25=3/5 (Answer)
