J - A =  4       ("Jordan is 4 years older than ava")
J + A = 20       ("The sum of Ava And Jordan age is 20")

------------------------ Add the two equation

2J =    4 + 20 = 24  ====>  J =  = 12.


Then A = 20-J = 20 - 12 = 8.


Answer.  A is 8.  J is 12.
