Let x be the son's present age.

Then the father's age now is (x + 24) years now.


In 10 years:  (x+24) + 10 = 3*(x+10).


x + 34 = 3x + 30  ====>  2x = 4  ====>  x = 2.


The son is 2 years old now.

The father is 26 years old now.
