Question 1090806: A man is four times old as his son. The difference
between their ages is 36 yrs. Find the sum of their ages.

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

M = 4S
M-S = 36

4S-S = 36
  3S = 36
   S = 12

The son is 12. The man is 4S or 4(12) or 48.

The sum of their ages is 12+48 or 60.
