Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In 5 years time...
Mother's age now = m
Mother age in 5 years time = m+5
If the daughter is x years old at present
Daughter's age now = x
Daughter's age in 5 years = x+5
In 5 years time a mother will be twice as old as her daughter (will be then).
m+5 = 2(x+5)
how old is her mother now.
Solve for m
m+5 = 2(x+5)
m+5 = 2x+10
  m = 2x+5
