Two years ago a man age was four times that of his son.
m - 2 = 4(s-2)
m - 2 = 4s - 8
m = 4s - 8 + 2
m = 4s - 6
eight years ago the man's age was ten times of his son.
m - 8 = 10(s-8)
m - 8 = 10s - 80
m = 10s - 80 + 8
m = 10s - 72
find the age of the son
m = m therefore we can write the equation:
10s - 72 = 4s - 6
10s - 4s = -6 + 72
6s = 66
s = 66/6
s = 11 yrs is the son's present age
