Currently, Michael is 5 years less than three times the age of his sister. In one year, he will be twice as old as his sister. Solve for both of their ages.

sister is x years old
Michael is 3x-5 years old
in one year, sister will be x+1 years old
Michael will be 3x-4 years old
3x-4=2(x+1)
3x-4=2x+2
x-4=2
x=6 sister's age in years
Michael's is 13
in one year, he will be 14 and his sister 7.
