Question 1059583: In 2006, there were 11,200 students at College A, with a projected enrollment increase of 800 students per year. In the same year, there were 30,700 students at College B, with a projected enrollment decline of 500 students per year.
According to these projections, when will the colleges have the same enrollment? What will be the enrollment at that time?

Let t be the time it takes before enrollments are equal. Then:
11200+800t=30700-500t
1300t=19500
t=15 years before enrollments are equal.
At that time, there will be 11200+800(15)=23,200 enrolled. ☺☺☺☺
