In 30 years, you age will be x + 30.
12 years ago, your age was x - 12.
Since your age in 30 years will be 8 times your age 12 years ago,
you can write the following equation:
x + 30 = 8(x - 12)
x + 30 = 8x - 96
8x - 96 = x + 30
8x - x - 96 = 30
7x - 96 = 30
7x = 30 + 96
7x = 126
x = 18
Your current age is 18.
