I know that earthier Ann or Ted is X but I'm not sure who I also know that the equation will equal 20

Hi there,
Make Ann's age = x
Ted's age is 2x - 4
x + (2x - 4) = 20
x + 2x - 4 = 20
Collect like terms
x + 2x = 20 + 4
3x = 24
x = 8
Ann is 8 years old
Ted is 12 years old
