I am not about the solution: it is right and correct.

I am about the formulation the problem.

It seems to be strange and goes out of English and out of common logic.

The correct formulation should be like this:

     Brian is seven years younger than his brother. In two years his brother will be twice as old as Brian is now. 
     How old is Brian and his brother now ?
