The sum of ages of a son and father is 112 years, after seven years, the age of father will be 5 times that of the son. What is the age of the son?

f+7 = 5(s+7)
----------------------
Substitute for "f" and solve for "s"::
112-s + 7 = 5s + 35
--------
6s = 84
s = 14 years (son's age now)
