5m + 2r = 39
r = 4m

Substitute for "r" and solve for "m"::
5m + 2(4m) = 39
13m = 39
m = 13

Solve for "r"::
r = 4m = 4*13 = 52 yrs (Rachel's age now)

I never normally comment on responses, but how can 5 * 52 + 2 * 13 = 39? Doesn't that equal 286?
Maybe this is some other math than what I know.
