How old would I be if I was 2/3 of my sisters age?
We are seven years apart.
:
let y = "your age"
then
(y+7) = sister's age
:
y = (y+7)
multiply both sides by 3
3y = 2(y + 7)
3y = 2y + 14
3y - 2y = 14
y = 14 is your age
:
;
Your sister would be 21; 14 is 2/3 of 21.
