A = g-50
or
A - g = -50
after 6 years, if sum of their ages is 152, their present age are.
(A+6) + (g+6) = 152
A + g + 12 = 152
A + g = 152 - 12
A + g = 140
Use elimination with these two equations
A + g = 140
A - g = -50
------------addition eliminates g, find a
2A = 90
A = 90/2
A = 45 yrs
then
g = 45 + 50
g = 95 yrs is Grandpa's age
