Let T be the Taras' age now.
Then Taras father's age is T + 28.

From the other side, 

T + 28 = 3T,

according to the condition. So, it is the equation you need to solve to find Taras age.

Simplify and solve it:

28 = 3T - T,

28 = 2T,

T =  = 14.

Answer. Taras is 14 years now. His father present age is 42 years.
