If 10th October 2014 is a Friday, then what was 3rd September 2013?
Let's figure it out.

10th October 2013 was a Thursday, because from a non-leap year to the
next non-leap year, each date moves forward 1 week day, because
365 days is exactly 1 more than a multiple of 7, and 364 = 52*7

One week earlier, 3rd October 2013 was also Thursday. So
1st October was 2 days before Thursday, which would be a
Tuesday.

That means the 30th September 2013 was Monday. Subtracting
4 weeks or 28 days from the 30th gives that 2nd September 2013
was also on Monday, so 3rd September 2013 was a Tuesday.
