Question 1022230: karen is twice as old as lori. three years from now,the sum of thier ages will be 42.how old is karen?

Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
K = Karen's age
L = Lori's age

K = 2L
(K+3)+(L+3)=42

Plug in the first equation into the second.

K + L = 36
3L = 36
L = 12

Lori is 12 and Karen is 24.
