Question 101053This question is from textbook
: translate into an equation:
variable x is multiplied by 6, the product is equal to 4 times the variable y This question is from textbook
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You must read the words and put them into an equation that makes sense.
Variable x.......x
Is multiplied by 6........times 6
This product is equal to...... =
4........ 4
Times.... x
The variable y...... y
When you put it all together, what do you get?
6x = 4y
important: you must change these numbers in the answers around in order for them to make sense
for instance,
x times 4 would equal the same thing as 4x, because of the commutative property. Numbers from the same property, like multiplication and addition can be changed around:
a times b = b times a
Note: Both ways are correct
