Let x=Caridad's sister's age now
Then x+6=Caridad's age now
And(x+6)-4=Caridad's age 4 years ago
x-4 =Caridad's sister's age 4 years ago
Now we are told that:
(x+6)-4=4(x-4) get rid of parens
x+6-4=4x-16 simplifying
x+2=4x-16 subtract 2 and also 4x from both sides
x+2-2-4x=4x-4x-2-16 collect like terms
-3x=-18 divide both sides by -3
x=6 -----------------Caridad's sister's age now
x+6=6+6=12-------------------------------Caridad's age now--ans

12=6+6
12=12
And
6-4=12-4
2*4=8
