You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Janet and Carl decorate cakes in a bakery. Janet can decorate a cake every 0.24 hour and Carl can decorate a cake every 0.33 hour. If they work together, at what rate are they decorating cakes? Round to the nearest tenth of a cake per hour.
:
Let t = how long it take for them to decorate a cake together;
Let a completed cake = 1
t/.24 + t/.33 = 1
:
Multiply equation by .24*.33 which is .0792
.33t + .24t = .0792
:
.57t = .0792
t = .0792/.57
t = .13895 hr per cake (both working)
;
That's a rate of 1/.13895 = 7.2 cakes per hour

I apologize for the dumb mistake!!!
