Question 149759: At 10 am a gymnastics team began traveling to thheir district finals 200 miles away. The A Squad traveled on the interstate at 65 mph and had a flat tire halfway there. Squad B traveled at 55 mph . Aproximatly how many minutes did Squad A sit before Squad B showed up to help them ?

halfway is 200/2 or 100 mi. __ find the time to the halfway point

team A __ t=100/65 __ t=20/13

team B __ t=100/55 __ t=20/11

the difference is the waiting time __ (260/143)-(220/143)=40/143 hours

(40/143)hr*60min/hr=2400/143 min __ 16.78 min (approx)
