It appears the distances are cutting in half each time.

If so, then first six terms are
4000, 2000, 1000, 500, 250, 125

Total Distance = 4000+2000+1000+500+250+125 = 7875 meters = 7.875 km

Divide by 1000 to go from meters to kilometers.
