20: Logistic Growth
2) A particularly virulent strain of bacteria can spread very quickly. Its population size can
grow by 185% per hour. A salad bar (without a sneeze guard…yuck!) has room and
appropriate food supply to support a population of 10,000 bacteria. An infected person
sneezes on the salad bar during the all-you-can eat lunch special at 12 noon, introducing
750 bacteria to the salad bar. How many bacteria will be on the salad bar if Professor
Holz goes there for dinner at 6 pm? Note: you need to find the population for each hour
until 6 pm!)
