B = {3, 4, 5, 6, 7}
What is n(A ∩ B) ?

So n(A ∩ B) = 2 since there are 2 items in set A ∩ B

The intersection of A and B, that is A ∩ B is the set of elements that are in both A and B. In this case this set has two elements. The complement of A ∩ B, to whit
, which is what I think you meant by the rather unorthodox notation n(A ∩ B), are all of the elements of set U excluding those in A ∩ B. So go through set U, cross out the two elements that are in A ∩ B, and the remainder will be the set
