Question 1059708: R,S and T are proper subsets of U. Neither R nor S is a subset of each other. R and S is not equal {0}, S and T = {0}, T is proper subset of R. I need to construct a venn diagram and place the elements in the correct regions.

i think this would look like this:

U is the universal set.

R, S, and T are proper subsets of U, therefore they are contained wholly in U.

R and S is not equal to {0} which means that the intersection between R and S exists.

in the diagram, that is shown as RS.

S and T is equal to {0} which means the intersection between those two sets does not exist.

therefore there is no intersection shown between T and S.

T is a proper subset of R, therefore T is shown as wholly contained in R.

the part of sets R and S that are common are shown as RS.

that means the intersection of R and S which can also be shown as R^S.

here's my picture.

hopefully it's correct and what you need.
