Question 143999: 3/5=-5k/3 (solve for k)
i thought that you turn it into a product and make 3x-5k/15 then you cancell out the 3 and get -5k/5 then cancell out the -5 and get k but my math book says the answer should be k=-9/25 and i'm not sure how to get that answer

Question 144454: Ok, I did a problem which was changing improper into to proper fractions. The problem was 5/3. It came up with 1.666666667. The answer was 5/3 + 1 2/3. I don't understand where the 2 came up at? I know the 1 was the first number of the decimal, but what about that 2?
