the reciprocal of a number is DEFINED to be "1 divided by the number".

So, given number a, its reciprocal is 1/a
So, given number a/b, its reciprocal is 1/(a/b), which is b/a

so,

reciprocal of 3/4 is 4/3
reciprocal of 2 1/2 --> which is 5/4 is 4/5
reciprocal of 8/7 is 7/8
