Question 5699: Thanks in advance- this fraction makes no sense to me.
a^2m(b^m+1) / a^m(b)
I know it looks confusing but to clarify, it reads: a to the second times m multiplied by b to the m plus one, divided by a to the m multiplied by b.
*When I work it out I end up with a^2m-m(b^m). I have no real clue if I'm right.

these are the basic three...apply them to your question a%5E%282m%29b%5E%28m%2B1%29%2Fa%5E%28m%29b

so, the a terms: a%5E%282m%29%2Fa%5Em: we have division, so powers subtract: 2m-m is m --> a%5Em.

so, the b terms: b%5E%28m%2B1%29%2Fb: we have division again, so m+1-1 is m --> b%5Em.
