Here is an easy way to do this:
let x = the 3rd game score necessary for 227 average
:
= 227
multiply both sides by 3, add the two scores
x + 382 = 3(227)
Multiply 3 times 227 and Subtract 382 from both sides
x = 681 - 382
x = 299 is the score you need,
