To solve:
0.1p+2.1=4.6p-1.9+0.5p The decimals could be bothering you so why don't we multiply every term by 10 to get rid of the decimals and we get:
p+21=46p-19+5p Let's next get our p's together :
p+21=51p-19 Now we will subtract p from both sides of the equation:
0+21=51p-p-19=
21=50p-19 Now we will add 19 to both sides to get our numbers together:
21+19=50p-19+19 =
40=50p or
p=4/5

(.1)(4/5)+(2.1)=(4.6)(4/5)-(1.9)+(.5)(4/5) multiply everything by 5:
(.1)(4)+(2.1)(5)=(4.6)(4)-(1.9)(5)+(.5)(4)=
