Jim is mixing peanuts and chocolate with peanuts that sell for $4.50 a pound and chocolates for $6.50 a pound. How many pounds of chocolate does he mix with 5 pounds of peanuts to obtain a mix that sells for $5.25/pound.?
---------
Value Equation:
value of chocolate + value of peanuts = value of the mix.
6.5c + 4.5*5 = 5.25(c+5)
6.5c + 22.5 = 5.25c + 26.25
c = 3.75 lbs. (amt. of chocolate needed)
