Discriminant:
1.) m^2 - 4m - 4 = 0



Since the discriminant is positive, you will have two real roots.

2.) 6y^2 = 4y -7
6y^2 - 4y + 7 = 0



Since the discriminant is negative, your roots are imaginery.
