Question 45478: Find the product. I am struggling with this one. Thanks
[( 4x - y) + 3z][( 4x - y) - 3z]
Answer by jake_6233(74) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
[( 4x - y) + 3z][( 4x - y) - 3z]
The first thing to realize is that this problem is of the form (a+b)(a-b)
a= (4x-y) b= 3z We know (a+b)(a-b)= a^2-b^2 so substituting we have
(4x-y)^2 -(3z)^2 I would imagine you were trying to use the foil method and got a headache very soon after beginning the problem Remember this problem is helping you to recognize a concept here not necesarily to FOIL Please let me know if this helps you
