Question 44159: solve. approximate irrational roots to the nearest tenth.
If the sides of a square plot of ground are increased by 1 m, its area becomes 225 m^2. Find the length of the sides of the original plot. (units optional)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
original side length = x
area of new plot =(x+1)(x+1) =225
%28x%2B1%29%5E2=225
x%2B1=15
so x=14m
I hope this helps
P.S. I am trying to start up my own homework help website. I would be extremely grateful if you would e-mail me some feedback on the help you received to adam.chapman@student.manchester.ac.uk
