Integers are just: ...-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3... They are not -1.25. They cannot be fractions or decimals. Negative numbers are also defined as real numbers. All numbers but the imaginery number are real numbers.

They are not the same. Even though they are closely related, they have a one-digit difference. Whole numbers include 0, while counting doesn't. Usually when you count, you start with one.
