if the equation is to be = 0
then either (5t -8)has to be 0
OR (t -1)= 0
...
If 5t-8=0
..
5t-8=0
add +8 to both sides
5t-8+8 = 8
5t=8
divide by 5
5t/5 = 8/5
t = 8/5
.....
If t-1 =0
t-1 = 0
add 1 to both sides
t-1+1 = 1
t =1
..
So for LHS = RHS
either t=1 OR t =8/5
