For the first problem, just solve all four equations for x:
A: x = 3
B: x = 12
C: x = 12
D: x = 48
So B and C are equivalent to each other, but neither A or D are equivalent to any of the others.
The second one is just arithmetic. Do the operations inside of the parentheses first, then do multiplications and divisions, then do the additions.
For example, in choice B:
First multiply 4 * 5, then add 15 to the result, then divide that result by 5 and finally add 5.
