Question 11747: what is the answer to this promblem
28-13+|z|
z=-5
please help me a.s.a.p
i dont understand it at all.

Answer by elima(1433)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
28-13+|z|
z=-5
You place the -5 in the z place, so you have;
28-13+|-5|
Remember the absolute value of a number only means how many digits it is from 0 on the number line.
If you start at zero and count back to -5 how many times did you move? 5
So is all |-5| means is it is 5 digits away from zero.
Now we have the problem:
28-13+5= 15-5=10
Hope this helps.=)
